Holmies and Fergies visit Bertland over easter and more fun at Kusangalala house.

It was really lovely to have my sisters and their families come visit us over Easter. I had a full house and a full heart! We tuned into our George family Easter service and the kids prepared a little song and dance for us (not sure if it will load properly!) Feeding 13 mouths is no simple task, let alone on a rainy day when we had no power! But somehow we ended up inventing a new feeding plan and it worked like a bomb! We started the fire before lunch time and kept the coals hot for the rest of the day, with multiple courses cooking throughout the day on the fire. We started with braai broodjies, and then had corn in the cob, sausages, fillet, sweet potato in the coals and ended with smores! It was brilliant, no mess or fuss, and food on demand for hungry kids. We headed down to the lake for lunch and a swim. The lake is the fullest it has been in over 50 years so it is just beautiful. Can't believe Ben and Gen are 16 already! We then headed to Kusangalala house for a few nights.

Family visit, a surprise birthday party and and unexpected trip to Zambia.

We took a trip to Blantyre to visit family over half term, and the kids and I ended up staying for an extra week. It was so lovely to spend time with my sisters and parents and watch my kids play with their cousins. It was very bittersweet because Wends and Lars with Gen, Liz and Nate are moving to Indonesia in July and so my idea of being closer to them has been shattered- a difficult pill to swallow. Shel and Brent, with Ben, are also moving...but they are moving to Lilongwe, which is closer to us. Yay! Girl time getting pedicures- very special mom and sister time with my favourites. Meanwhile, the boys had a blast with Grampa at Game Haven. It is Louie's happy place and Grampa has got so much time for his grandkids, he loves to spend time with them and his years of teaching has prepared him for any tricks they might pull to try and take charge! Its wonderful to be able to create these memories. We went down the escarpment to a place called Zua Lodge. It was really lovely, with a
